What can I help you with?
This isn’t an exhaustive list, and just some examples of the issues I help people with — it may be that you simply feel stuck and don’t have the words for how you feel, and that’s totally okay!
Anxiety
Neurodiversity overwhelm and burnout
Insomnia
Body focused repetitive behaviours (e.g., nail biting, skin picking, hair pulling)
Confidence and self-esteem
Fears and phobias
Trauma
Grief
Limiting beliefs and habits
Pain management
You’re more capable than you realise
I believe every person already has the inner resources they need to create meaningful, lasting change. Sometimes those strengths become hidden beneath anxiety, overwhelm, self-doubt, or years of unhelpful patterns. My work isn't about "fixing" you, I help you reconnect with those resources so you can feel calmer and more like yourself again.
Every session is tailored specifically to you. I don't work from generic scripts or focus on labels. Instead, I take time to understand your unique experiences, goals, and the patterns you'd like to change, creating treatment just for you.
“If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change”.
Wayne Dyer
Feeling safe is the foundation of meaningful change.
My approach combines cognitive hypnotherapy with gentle somatic awareness, helping you notice how emotions may be held within the body without needing to relive difficult experiences.
I also believe in keeping things real. There is no toxic positivity or "tough love" here. Life can be challenging, and many people spend years masking, overthinking, or feeling as though they have to cope alone.
I bring lived experience of anxiety, neurodiversity, burnout, and the pressures of masking. I understand that healing isn't about becoming someone different—it's about rediscovering who you already are.
A safe, supportive approach
My therapy spaces
I offer in-person therapy from two locations, both conveniently located just off the A12: Rise Therapy Centre in Kelvedon and The Chill Out Centre in Stanway. Each space provides a calm and comfortable environment where you can feel safe to talk, reflect, and explore whatever has brought you to therapy. Both locations have free, easy parking.

After a longer 70-minute session where we’ll discuss your goals in detail and agree a bespoke treatment plan, usually, cognitive hypnotherapy needs two or three sessions in which the foundations for change are effectively put in place, although on average, most people need six sessions. There’s no set timeline and you’ll know when you’ve got to where you need to be.
-
Everyone has the capacity to adopt new, often lifechanging ways of seeing the world. Through the everyday trance state of mind (not the stage show variety!) and leveraging the power of neuroplasticity, we work together to “repattern” negative thoughts.

My practice is covered by very clear guidelines and ethics. As a member of the NCH, CNHC, and QCHPA there are certain people who I cannot work with:
Epilepsy (the deep relaxation of hypnotherapy is contraindicated)
Psychosis (bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, personality disorder)

The first time you come to see me, the session will last about 90 minutes. Subsequent sessions will last one hour.
-
Sessions are £95. Payment by bank transfer is required before your session to secure your appointment. Sessions cannot go ahead until payment has been received.
-
If you’re unable to attend an appointment as planned, I require at least 24 hours’ notice. I understand that sometimes this is not possible and, in such circumstances, I will do my best to work around you. However, I reserve the right to charge for appointments where less than 24 hours’ notice is given.

Once considered an in-person practice, hypnotherapy now offers the same depth of focus and transformation online—from the comfort of home. I offer both options and work from two in-person therapy spaces in the Colchester area (Stanway and Kelvedon). If you choose online, sessions will be held over secure zoom calls, and you’ll just need a quiet comfortable spot where you won’t be disturbed.

Hypnosis is nothing like the stage show type you may have seen on TV…trance is a natural state of focused attention that we all experience in everyday life—like becoming absorbed in a film or arriving somewhere without remembering every turn. During hypnosis, you're always aware and in control. You'll feel deeply relaxed while remaining able to hear, speak, or open your eyes if you wish. This relaxed state allows us to work with the unconscious mind, where habits, beliefs, and patterns are stored, making it easier to create lasting, positive change.
